Roger Henning, FAMI, CMP, FPRIA, MAIPIO
Founder and Managing Director
Roger Henning is a multi-skilled business development specialist,
with a unique background in diplomacy, crisis management, high
security and counter terrorism with a strong business partner
network, in place across Asia/Pacific and the Middle East. This
specialisation is enhanced with international PR, sales and
marketing experience. Crisis management roles include
containment of more than 50 major incidents, including the Port
Arthur Massacre, Tasmania, Australia; earthquakes in Kobe, Japan
and Newcastle, Australia ; airline mishaps; risk assessment and
analysis of critical infra-structure sites including airports, seaports,
oil and gas facilities.
A former Information Attaché, with the Australian Embassy, in
Washington, DC, Mr. Henning has enjoyed regular access to the
White House and Number 10 Downing Street. He worked one to
one, with former British Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher, on
various challenging international issues.
During 2001, Mr. Henning provided “intelligent archiving solutions”
to combat “data base explosion”, being faced by organizations with
high transaction rates across Asia and the Middle East. These
included the Royal Saudi Air Force and the Ministry of the Interior in
Saudi Arabia, Reserve Banks, mobile phone companies,
stockbrokers and manufacturers.
In 2002/2003, Mr. Henning supplied biometric facial recognition
technology, capable of matching mug shots at a rate of one million
a second, used by intelligence and law enforcement agencies, to
identify and capture terrorists, drug traffickers and pedophiles
across Asia/Pacific, as a Total Solutions Provider.
Mr. Henning was a presenter at INTEL 2002, which was attended
by representatives of all five Australian intelligence agencies, the
Australian Federal Police, State Police services, senior police from
NZ, Singapore and HK, Army, Navy, Air Force, as well as the
Departments of the Prime Minister, Attorney General, Transport,
Immigration, Foreign Affairs and Trade.
At the 2003 Singapore Police Force Information and Computer
Technology seminar, Mr. Henning was presented with an award by
the Commissioner of the Singapore Police Force for contributing to
identity fraud containment. He also served as a presenter on
‘Fused Biometric Security Solutions’ to an intelligence conference,
in Singapore, in June 2003.
In November 2003, Mr. Henning presented biometric technology to
the Board of the Australian High Tech Crime Centre (AHTCC),
which consists of the Commissioner of the Australian Federal
Police and all State Police Commissioners. This was the first time
a non-law enforcement officer had been invited to present a
solution to this forum.
Mr. Henning was an Identity Fraud and Counter Terrorism delegate
to both INTEL 2004 and INTEL 2005, as a member of the
Australian Institute of Professional Intelligence Officers.
Michael Roach
Mr Roach retired from the Australian Security Intelligence
Organisation (ASIO) in 2004 where he served as a career
intelligence officer for thirty three years. During this time he had
major and direct involvement in Australia’s counter-intelligence and
counter-terrorism machinery at Government and International level
including the development of relevant policy, procedures, crisis
management and enhanced deployment techniques. He has
occupied operational, analytical and management positions
providing high level advice to Government and Industry.
In recent years he managed, as an Assistant Director of ASIO, their
counter-terrorist, response and deployment area plus the
Protective Security area of ASIO called T4. He was responsible for
the provision and conduct of protective security risk reviews,
including national threat assessment advice to government and
industry and more recently occupied the position of Security Adviser
for ASIO. Complex protective/physical security projects have
included; 2000 Olympics, CHOGM and implementation of security
solutions for Australian Nuclear Science Technology Organisation
(Australia’s Nuclear Reactor – ANSTO) and for other Government
Departments throughout Australia including Defence facilities.
Mr Roach is a strategic risk adviser specialising in the application
and coordination of protective and physical security measures
relevant to today’s terrorist activities and other emerging threats.
He specialises in the provision and assessment of appropriate
security advice, counter-measures and mitigation strategies that
will enhance security of people, buildings, systems, facilities,
environments, critical infrastructures and mass gatherings. His
skills include integrated security planning, security risk reviews,
security audits, integrated security design and contingency
planning.
He is a regular lecturer and consultant on security measures and
applications in Australia and has spoken at security functions for
ASIAL, Local Government and Industry. Recently in Singapore Mr
Roach conducted lectures and workshops on “Suicide Mitigation
Strategies” and “Preparation of Security Plans for facilities”. In
preparation for the approaching Commonwealth Games in
Melbourne Mr Roach has lectured on “Defining the Security Threat,
threat dynamics and countermeasures for Surface Transport
(Trains) Systems and Precincts”. More recently, in Korea Mr Roach
spoke on “Shielding Critical and Non Critical Infrastructures form
Vehicular and Suicidal Explosive Devices”.
Mr Roach appeared on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation
program Lateline on August 2nd, 2005 and has been widely
reported in the media since.
